No Excuses

One of the jobs I have decided to tackle with the new job is a little cleaning up of the website. A few of the pages are lacking in useability and SEO juice, 2 things that are easily corrected.
So, working on my first page in the site to get some attention and the code block above is what I find. What you don’t see is nested table that this code block lives in. Yes, nested tables. Would you believe that this is a website that is less than 2 years old?
I’m not kidding.
It’s uglier than code made with Dreamweaver, which I did not think was possible. I’m also no ASPx wizard, but things look overly complicated and the file organization is less than ideal. Maybe ASPx requires this, but I have a feeling not so much.
I say this because the same ASPx wizard that has done such a beautiful job coding the bulk of our website also decided to roll something back on the server eary this morning, completely hosing the Wordpress installation that took me all of last week to get up and running. For some reason, he combined the old blog software into the new. I don’t know why. There isn’t even a back up like that. The dev server isn’t like that. But some how, this magician decided that it needed to be like that.
Looks like it’s time I start learning ASPx.
