Color Run 2012 - Arizona
The Color Run is a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family. Our events, are all about people of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes toeing the start line. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of the Color Run course will be the most enjoyable real estate you’ve traveled in a VERY long time.
The shorter version is a blast of a good time! Imagine about 20,000 people, all gathered together, wearing white and starting a 5k run. It was for charity with proceeds going to Banner Heath Cardon Children’s Medical Center, it was nice to see such a great turn out. That’s 20k people with an extra $30. Nice to see the economy turning around.
The off was like a typical run I would imagine. That would change after the first 1000 meters, which is where the first color station was; yellow.

And so it went. With each 1,000 meters came a new color, ending at the finish with everyone looking like they were blasted with the Walt Disney Color Machine. It was pretty awesome.
Not quite as awesome as the final color blast. Everyone gathered in the middle of Tempe Town Park and after a 10 count, unloaded handful after handful of colored corn starch into the air!

I would say a great time was had by all! I know I enjoyed it and I’m more than pleased with how the photos turned out!
