Yahoo excludes Mac Safari users
It is highly disappointing and disillusioning to discover tonight that Yahoo has released a preview of its new, Ajax-enabled home page with support only for Internet Explorer 6.0 and Firefox 1.5.

I’ve seen teh new hotness that is yahoo.com, and it’s much better than it used to be!

Makes me kinda glad I didn’t get a MacBook now ;)

Dude. It’s completely f’ing retarded (the Safari exclusioon I mean). The page works perfectly fine in Safari (I played around with it without any problem), you just have to change the user agent to Win IE 6.0. I think this is just a case of Yahoo being a dick to Mac users (it’s happened before).

nice. so it’s less a compatability thing and more a “safari users not welcome here” thing?

That sucks. I use FF though :)

It’s not like Mac users are locked out… I’ve never been all that enamored with Safari to begin with… Heck it could be worse, they could force you to use IE for Mac.

that seems odd that Yahoo would exclude Safari users on purpose. I mean, I’ve given thought to blocking Safari users from some of my sites too, but I never would. I’d rather just bitch about it.

On that same thing, any votes for OS makers to stop making browsers? Anyone, anyone?

  5. Joshua Says:

I’m gonna block Windows users from my sites then.

  6. db Says:

dude, you can’t block windows users. teh bad bloggers won’t be able to post comments!

  7. John Says:

    I block linux users :)

  8. db Says:

niiiiiiice. I’ll remember that next time I’m rockin’ the ‘nix box ;)
