Are you still using IE? Still full of holes, even with the SP2 update on WinXP.
I had to help someone today again that is experiencing severe browser hijacking. I gave him the Firefox/Adaware-SpyBot/Windows update trifecta and hope I don’t have to reload the machine.
I know I must be sounding like a broken record by now, but I only repeat myself in hopes that you will help to spread the word!
Remember (esp. for you broadband users): 1. DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER! w(t)f recommends Mozilla Firefox. 2. Buy a router/firewall to connect everything too. Software works, but the little blue box is better. 3. Download, install and run on a regular basis Ad-Aware and Spy Bot - Search and Detroy. 4. Install Anti-virus and keep it up-to-date! w(t)f recommends Norton, but there are some free packages that work equally well. 5. Run windows update on a regular basis! Better still, have it set to download and install automatically*
Got it? Now, copy this list and email to all of your less knowledgeable users and help ‘em out!
*Unless in a corp. environment. You mac users can ignore steps 3 and 5.
