No, really. Some clever uber-smart guy at MIT (where else) has developed an alarm clock that, after you hit the snooze button, runs and hides!
When the alarm clock goes off and the snooze button is pressed, Clocky will roll off the bedside table and wheel away, bumping mindlessly into objects on the floor until it eventually finds a spot to rest. Minutes later, when the alarm sounds again, the sleeper must get up out of bed and search for Clocky. This ensures that the person is fully awake before turning it off. Small wheels that are concealed by Clocky’s shag enable it to move and reposition itself, and an internal processor helps it find a new hiding spot every day.
Ok, but what happens when you step on the damned thing trying to find it? Or worse, it gets so far under your bed that you can’t reach it? Does it just keep going off forever?
If this ever goes into production, how long do you think until the Roomba folks buy him out? Because what we really need is an escaping alarm clock that will vacuum the floors as it gets away. Then I’d buy one!

Dont' sweat if your comment isn't showing up. It's currently being analyzed by the robots to ensure that you are, in fact, you and not one of those idiot spammers that spend their days and nights clogging the tubes.
If does seem to be taking longer than normal, contact db and he'll hook you up tootsweet! You know, 'cause that's the kind of guy he is (and he is also the boss of the ninja robots).

Actually Don this was invented by a girl at MIT for a class progect and she got an A on it. The fact that it was invented by a girl accounts for the lame name of clocky. The invented was on Kevin and Bean this week and she is working on making a consumer model of this for wide spread distrobution. I am very much looking forward to this being available because I need all the help I can get to be up and to work by 4am.

[...] I posted about this a year ago or so. The clock goes off and if you don’t catch it, it runs away, hides, and goes off again, forcing you out of bed to find it. [...]
