blogging offline during my travels. Then I got bored at Heathrow so I got an hour of internet. So, I present to you, the loyal w(t)f reader, my trip from Europe to home…
Green shoes and Orange Socks
The girl sitting across from me is wearing green shoes with a matching belt and orange socks. She seems to be American based on her accent, but that really doesn’t mean much when traveling through the EU.
Currently, I’m sitting at gate D16, Amsterdam NL waiting for a flight to London Heathrow before heading out to LAX.
I’m very early. Yesterday I completely missed my flight, and didn’t want to make that mistake again. I’ve never missed a flight! It’s my own fault for booking a flight so early, which made it impossible to get to. No time to reschedule either. So, my fault. I’m not complaining at all, in fact, this could be a good thing. Just 1 American, travelling from one end of the earth the to the other.
Here I am forced to talk to people. To interact. To ask questions (and directions). Everyone in Amsterdam has been great so far and very accomodating.
High praise for British Airways as well. They have a new customer for life in me. I will attempt to fly them any chance I get.
Here in EU they make you check in at a kiosk, and the agent at the desk only takes your bags. I might have gotten lucky today, but probably not. The baggage agent today not only took my bag, but made sure I was booked through to LAX with all of my boarding passes, got me the map for the dreaded transfer at Heathrow and called me a bastard…twice! It was great! She was kidding of course, because after that she offered me champagne, which wasn’t there, but it made a funny joke.
I’m putting up pictures like it’s nobody’s business, and posting like mad at the MINI United blog! Still, I wanted to stop by w(t)f and say hi.
hi.
Ok, seriously, I have to go. Big day today. No time no time!
All packed and ready to go for my first trip outside of the US. Want to follow along? All the links are currently at the top of dbmini and WRR.
Cya in a week! Be nice to your sister and don’t forget to let the cat out!
Just a few days until I start my trip and of course everything starts going horribly wrong.
3 new computers installed plus a pcAnywhere upgrade. Of course, with the new pcAnywhere, none of my backups are working. I’ve spent about 10 hours over the last 3 days running backups manually. Ugh. Hopefully I can get them working before I head out.
At least my cell phone won’t be working in London or Europe. Not supported on my phone. Thank you Verizon Wireless!
Attention pretty much everyone that comes to me for technical advise or assistance.
Stop asking me. Please.
Actually, you can continue to ask me. But, before you do, please read the following aloud to yourself before you proceed.
- Am I going to question the advice that db gives me?
- Am I not even going to consider the advice that db gives me?
- Am I only asking to make him feel like a smart tech guy?
- Am I going to question the procedures he recommends?
If you can answer yes to any or all of these questions, then you are no longer allowed to ask for my help, assistance or guidance.
Remember, you came to me. STOP WASTING MY FUCKING TIME!
That is all.
