I’m gonna make a million

Yes, it’s true. I have plans on making my first million, should the lotto idea not work out. Hey, you can’t win if you don’t play!

So, you might be asking yourself how I’m going to do it? Easy my friends. Read on!

  • Harness the power of the human sneeze
  • I’m telling you, right now, my sneezes have enough juice behind them to power 10 homes for about 2 hours. There has to be a way to capture that wasted energy and use it in a more productive manner.
  • No-wet windows after a car wash
  • You have all seen this before. You take your car to the car wash, get it washed and leave. 10 minutes later you roll down your window and when you roll it back up, streak city! I’ll be putting calls into Dupont later this year.
  • Seat belt systems that don’t wrinkle your clothes
  • This has got to be my biggest annoyance. There has to be a way for me to remain safe in my vehicle without the front of my shirt getting totally wrinkled.

Of course, suggestions are appreciated.

Just a few things

So Valentines day is tomorrow. bleh.

I am finally ‘rent free! Woohoo! Even got Mom to promise they won’t be back out for at least a month.

If you haven’t been over to see Karin for a while, go over and say congrats. They are having a baby!

You might have heard I am in the process of ordering a new car. More as it becomes available.

Today is John’s birthday. Cruise over and say something nice eh? Odd, but I got an email about this from some social site that I think I used once. Honestly, I’m surprised it’s still running.

Shirts are starting to fit better. I’m pretty pleased with that.

Big diggin’ playing with Twitter. It’s pretty fun. You should try it too.

I finally don’t have to be a club officer! Still the webmaster, but I can deal with that. Only took 4 years.

I was listening to a big pile of the podcast yesterday, just going thru some of the older shows looking for ideas or seeing if there is stuff we need to follow up on. I think we do a pretty darn good job with it. If you are a listener, thanks for that.

New FiOS service is pretty rockin’ so far. Upload and download speeds are awesome. Just need to see how well Skype works. That will be later in the week. Oh yea, and I need to get the lad up and running. Might have to do a wireless NIC swap.

Finally, getting ready to upgrade all of the rest of the db sites to the newest version of Wordpress. I’m hopeing it goes smoothly.

Actually, this is finally, but they are getting ready to do some serious road work on Ortega Highway. Watch soon for some serious traffic rants.

Doors

Hosted the dad half of the parental units all week. He worked on doors.

New garage door? Yep. Repaired shower door? Yep. Repaired sliding door? Yep. Rebuilt back door lock? Yep.

That’s a lot of door work.

I, however, didn’t work on any doors. I did call Verizon and order up some of that new FiOS service. Great picture and sound for the TV and blazing fast internet speeds. How fast?

The only weird thing about it so far is that it is giving me a Kansas City IP address. I really don’t live 1200 miles from the speakeasy.net server I tested against. Closer to 80. Other than that, so far it’s pretty sweet!

a good story

I like to read. Really I do. Nothing better than a good book. But I have a problem. If it is a really good book, telling a really good story, I have a very hard time putting it down. To the point where I loose sleep, am late for work or should be working on stuff that makes me money. Quite distracting.

It doesn’t have to be a book either. Oddly enough, a good television series has the very same effect on me. I can waste an entire day going through multiple seasons of the West Wing for example, since the story usually continues from episode to episode.

My current distraction would be Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (aka West Wing v2.0). Much like The West Wing, each episode picks up exactly where the other left off. I know this because I spent Monday and Tuesday this week watching all of season 1. Back to back, 4 or 5 at a time.

I was up until 2 both nights watching this show. The story has totally consumed me this week and now I’m about a week behind on some things that I really need to not be a week behind on.

I’m glad there isn’t anymore to watch until next week. I really need to get some work done!
