podcasting machine

Yes, for the last week and change and again until September 4th, I am said podcasting machine.

Over there at the podcast site, we have been ‘casting damn near live, putting up 19 shows since the 15th. So, I’ve been kinda busy.

So, I’ll still be a little sparse for the next few days.

Until I get back, is there anything that anyone can do to stop the use of the word podcastosphere? Please? Pretty please? With sugar, whipped cream and jimmies on top? Oh hell, I’ll even throw in a cookie if it means that word will go away!

Your feed

Dear blog writer,

If you are reading this and you think I might read your blog, could you please do me a favor? In the admin/setup of your blog I think you have a checkmark that says how much of a post to display in your feed. Usually it will say something like ‘Full Text’ or ‘Summary’.

I was wondering if you could do me a favor? Not that I don’t like actually visiting your blog, but I don’t always have the time. I just want the information. Could you please set yours to display the full text?

Don’t worry, I’ll still visit. I promise! Usually to leave a comment or check out the pictures or whatever, but I will visit.

And, I will read more too. If you provide the full text of your posts in your feed.

Thank you very much,

db

The last of the iTunes holdouts
You know the names: Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Radiohead, Kid Rock, and yes, The Beatles…none on iTunes. But analysts say after holdouts like Metallica and Bob Seger recently made the jump, these groups can’t be far behind. A few of them in fact already are on in someways…Thom Yorke of Radiohead is, as are Jimmy Page and Robert Plant of LZ.

Don’t any of these music people have kids? Nieces or nephews with iPods or similiar portable MP3 playing device? I know that if they did, they would be all…

“whoa, that iTunes is pretty coo…OH SNAP! Vanilla Ice!”

I’m just sayin’

School Starts Today

and as I’ve said in the past, it’s about time!

New backpack. Check Lunch made. Check New, sparkling white, size 13 (!) converse. Check (I swear he’s gonna be 6′4″). New haircut. Check.
New clothes to make sure he looks cool. Check. I actually got verification from my 19 year old niece, so I still have it.

I’ll be home all week enjoying the time to myself and working on stuff for the podcast, so watch for more posts later on.

“Google” is the Number One Search AOL
That so many customers would use one search engine to find another is among the odd truths being mined from AOL’s public release of search data. For better or worse, the data offer the first widespread public glimpse of how people search the Internet, of what they are interested in.

No, that’s not it at all. To find out what it is, just watch any less-skilled-than-you user use ANY search engine. You’re grandparents are a great example.

You see, they think the search box is the address bar. Watch as they type all kinds of things into that search box. Yahoo, foodtv, betterhomesandgardens.com. You get the idea. They type in the address they want into the search bar.

To see people searching for google on AOL isn’t that surprising. It is kinda funny watching them type it into the MSN search box tho.
