a quick check
This is a test of the w.bloggar blogging tool. Had this been an actual blog post I’m sure there is somethere here that you could ignore.Bloggers in your area really don’t give a shit about this test and didn’t do anything to help me out.
Remember, this was only a test
ok, back from Vegas. You can see my pics here and some pics from the joshinator here.
Vegas was cool. Josh got some hooker catalogs to take back to Nebraska to show off to his friends. I was, however, seriously disappointed that we did not see any hookers walking the strip. They must be cracking down, try to keep those families walking up and back to see the fire show and dancing waters. Oh well, perhaps next time.
If time allowed, we of course could have driven out to Pahrump. I failed to mention this because time didn’t allow. There are real live whorehouse right on the main street in Pahrump Nevada. Some are even located right next to stores that sell nothing but fireworks! Talk about your 1 stop shopping!
Otherwise, Vegas was Vegas. Even managed to catch a pretty cheesy lounge act in one of the lounges at the Star Dust, which in and of itself screams cheesy! It’s one of the last relic hotels on the strip, completly with loud carpeting. They have done an expansion though, and it is and entire wing of the casino that should be called NASCAR Korner (but I doubt that is what it is called). It’s a white trash heaven on earth! Loud crappy rock songs, or even louder NASCAR races! Even saw the king of the mullet people while we were there, so I guess there is that.
I guess that’s about all I have on Vegas
we now return to our normal scheduled programming…
HUGE MINI event in Las Vegas this weekend. Plus a little bit or work.
I’ll be back in a few days….
So, I finally broke down and contacted my my cable company last week and order me up one of those high fa-luetin’ HD cable boxes, with the service that goes with.
This past Sunday, I saw Janet’s boob and a crappy football game with lame commercials in brilliant high definition. Just tonight I watched a cliff hanger of an episode of West Wing in brilliant high definition. Later this week I plan on watching whatever hockey game is being broadcast on ESPN in brilliant high definition.
high definition: it’s brilliant.
For those of you that have yet to experience the brilliance that is high definition, it’s kind of like this. You know when you go to a live sports event, especially baseball, and when you first enter the stadium seating everything looks crystal clear and sharp, almost surreal. That’s what high definition is like.
My current entertainment system specs:
Toshiba 43″ rear projection HD TV
Pioneer 600W DTS Surround Reciever
JBL Theatre Reference speakers
Advent All weather speakers for the patio
Pioneer super old DVD player
Microsoft XBox
Monster Cable cables and connectors
(yes, even for the xbox)
So, needless to say I haven’t seen a movie, in a theatre, since Daredevil I think. It’s been a while. But, with my setup, I really don’t see the need.
If you have the opportunity to checked out any high definition programming, I’d highly recommend it. It’s brilliant.
Why am I still getting emails that are infected with the novarg.a@mm virus? Are there people out there that are really that oblivious to online security and virus protection? I know that you, my faithful readers, have already checked all of your gear and made sure that the gear of your people is all clear as well, right? If you haven’t, you can download an easy fix that will run on ALL versions of windows and it only takes a few minutes.
Next up is the detail shop. Now they are just stalling. I make changes, but the changes are “what they expected”. I tell them that I can not completely reproduce their current system, yet they continue to beat me over the head with it. I ask for input, but it changes every time I ask. They have concerns that I address then they have more concerns.
If it were up to me I’d leave ‘em to work on the eMachines running Win95 and Access 97 until great of amounts of smoke pour furiously from the power supply and take all of the brand new gateway workstations and LCD monitors out of the shop and bring them into the corporate office where they are needed, and more importantly, will be used.
But wait, there’s more….
club (GROUP) [Show phonetics]
group noun [C]
1 an organization of people with a common purpose or interest, who meet regularly and take part in shared activities:
(from cambridge.org).
Shared activities? Do those include personal, public attacks? Smart ass comments or remarks? Non-constructive critism or comments? I don’t think so.
I believe that a club should be something fun. Get together, participate in the club’s activities with other club members and have a good time. Friendships should emerge. There should be a sense of comraderie. It should be fun!
Or do I have that part all wrong?
Maybe it should be about personal, public attacks. Or harse, unnecessary critisism. Or non-participation in the clubs activities.
No, that can’t be right.
If it’s not right, then why? Why must there be personal attacks? It’s a club. Why must there be non-participation to show protest? It’s a club! Why must there be battles? IT’S A CLUB!. Come on now people. Let it go. I know that there has to be at a least a million other things that would benefit from the attention.
I’m just sayin….
